Overview
Scanner PDF is a paid iOS application — a one-time $1.99 USD purchase from the App Store. There is no subscription, no recurring billing, no ads, and no analytics tracking.
We are committed to collecting as little personal data as possible. The app works without an account and processes everything on your device.
We do not sell, rent, share, or trade any user data with third parties.
Data We Collect
- Account: none required. The app is fully usable without signing in.
- Scanned documents, generated PDFs, and images are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. iCloud sync is opt-in and only activates if you enable it explicitly in Settings.
- Sign in with Apple (optional): if you choose to sign in, we receive only the data Apple chooses to share (an opaque user identifier and, optionally, your name and email). It is stored encrypted in the iOS Keychain on this device only — never sent to any server we control.
- Email for share-by-email convenience: if you enter an email address to pre-fill share sheets, it is stored locally on this device and never transmitted by the app.
Permissions
- Camera — used only when you tap a capture action, to photograph documents.
- Photos — used only when you import an existing image, or when you choose Save to Photos.
- Files — used only when you import from or export to the iOS Files app.
On-Device Processing
All edge detection, perspective correction, image enhancement, OCR (text recognition), and format conversion runs locally on your device using Apple’s frameworks (Vision, Core Image, PDFKit, WebKit).
No images, scans, recognised text, or web pages are uploaded to any external server by the app.
Purchase Information
Scanner PDF is a one-time paid app for $1.99 USD (pricing in your local currency may vary based on the App Store).
There are:
- No in-app purchases
- No auto-renewing subscriptions
- No recurring charges
Payment is processed entirely by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive your payment details, credit-card number, or full Apple ID.
Refunds, when applicable, are handled by Apple under the App Store terms at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Tracking & Third Parties
- We use no third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking identifiers.
- The App Tracking Transparency prompt is therefore not shown.
- We do not use cookies. The app does not browse the web in the background.
When you use the Web Page → PDF feature, the URL you provide is loaded directly inside the app’s WebKit view to render a PDF. No URL or rendered content is sent to a server we control.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The most current version will always be available inside the app under Settings → Privacy Policy and at this URL. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
