Terms of Use

1) Acceptance

• By using Quran | قرآن you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy below.
• The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use to read, listen to, and memorize the Holy Quran.

2) Content & Rights

• Quran text and official Mushaf pages are provided by King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran.
• Recitations are owned by their original reciters and providers (e.g. mp3quran.net) and remain their property.
• You may not redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the audio or text obtained through the app.

3) Acceptable Use

• Use the app respectfully and lawfully. Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or misuse the service.
• The Memorization feature is a study aid; recognition accuracy depends on your device, microphone, and recitation.

4) No Warranty

• The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Prayer times and Qibla are calculated estimates and should be verified locally.
• The developer is not liable for any loss arising from use of the app, network providers, or third-party content.

Privacy Policy

1) Data Stored On Device

• The app stores local settings, reading/listening progress, bookmarks, favorites, download records, memorization (Tasmee‘) history, and optional local account data for on-device sign-in.
• All of this data remains on the user's device and is not transmitted to the developer.

2) Personal Data Collection

• The app does not collect, store, or share personal data with the developer or with third parties.
• No personal information such as name, email address, or contacts is collected by the application.
• If you enable location permission, location is used only to show your city and calculate Qibla and prayer times for you inside the app and widget.
• Location is requested only once on first launch; after approval your city, coordinates, and timezone are saved locally so the app and widgets keep working offline without asking again.
• A full year of prayer times is computed and cached locally on device so widgets refresh without any network connection.
• Location data is processed locally on device and is not shared with the developer for analytics, ads, or tracking.

3) Microphone & Voice Memorization (Tasmee‘)

• The Memorization (تسميع) feature uses the microphone only while you are actively reciting, and only after you grant Microphone and Speech Recognition permission.
• Speech is processed using Apple’s Speech Recognition. On-device recognition is used when your device supports it, so your audio never leaves the device.
• When on-device recognition is unavailable, audio may be processed by Apple’s speech service under Apple’s privacy policy solely to transcribe your recitation. The developer never receives or stores your audio.
• Recitation audio is never recorded to a file, uploaded to the developer, or shared with third parties. Only your local memorization progress (surah, ayah, completion %, accuracy, date) is saved on device.
• You can revoke Microphone or Speech Recognition permission at any time in iOS Settings.

4) Apple CarPlay

• When connected to CarPlay, the app shows surahs, reciters, and Now Playing controls so you can listen to the Quran safely while driving.
• CarPlay uses the same on-device data and audio sources as the app and does not collect additional personal data.

5) Tracking & Analytics

• The app does not use tracking technologies, advertising identifiers, analytics services, or advertising SDKs.

6) Network & Content Sources

• Recitations are loaded from external providers including mp3quran.net and related servers.
• Official Mushaf pages and Quran resources are provided by King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran.
• Quran text used for memorization tracking is bundled in the app from the King Fahd Complex Hafs dataset and is matched against your recitation entirely on device.
• Location permission depends on system location services to provide city name and local prayer-time calculations.
• When online content is requested, these providers may process technical data such as IP address under their own privacy policies.

7) Downloads Logic (Offline Audio)

• Downloads start only when the user taps "Download Surah" or "Download All Surahs".
• Local metadata may include reciter ID/name, surah number, download status, timestamps, and local file reference.
• On native iOS/Android builds, completed audio files are saved inside app-private storage for offline playback.
• On native builds, offline audio downloads are not limited by a fixed in-app storage cap. Storage availability depends on device free space and OS behavior.
• On web builds, downloads are handled by the browser download manager.
• Deleting a download removes the local record and attempts to delete the local file on native builds.

8) Data Retention & Deletion

• Most data remains locally on the user's device until the user deletes it inside the app or uninstalls the app.
• Users may remove local account data, download records, and memorization history from within the application.

9) Children

• The app is intended for general audiences and is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13.

10) Copyright & Source Notice

• Recitations and audio streams remain the property of their original rights holders.
• According to King Fahd Complex policy, website content is protected except services, computer files, or software tools explicitly made available for public use.

11) Policy Updates

• This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page.
• This version (2.0.0) adds the Memorization (Tasmee‘) voice feature, Apple CarPlay support, and an offline yearly prayer-time cache.
